ACED Students and Staff Statistics

These statistics on Australian higher education programs in engineering and related technologies are for calendar year 2019.  They provide a pre-COVID-19 picture of the engineering education system, reporting more than 11,000 Australian graduates and more than 14,500 international graduates.

Despite the onset of the pandemic, the early 2020 graduate surveys found that a high proportion of the 2019 engineering graduates were in full-time employment.   The proportion of Australian women commencing engineering programs was 18.4%, the highest figure on record.

The data in these reports are sourced from the Australian Government's Higher Education Statistics Collections and Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) surveys.  The ACED reports provide commentaries on decadal trends, and selected comparisons of engineering with other fields of education.
